The National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Aberglasny Gardens
A short drive away for garden lovers, while for those wanting a more action packed holiday, the 22km cycling tracks in the Brechfa forest will not disappoint. Why not also try out the Millennium Coastal Path & cycleway stretching from Pembrey Country Park to The National Wetland Centre of Wales at Penclacwydd or take a walk up the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons?
There are numerous castles in the area for those looking for a piece of history including Kidwelly, Llanstephan, Dryslwyn castles and the Dolaucothi Goldmines date back to Roman times.
Literature lovers would enjoy a visit to Dylan Thomas’s Boathouse in Laugharne and a drink at the Browns Hotel, the poet’s local drinking haunt.
For shopping, the popular historical market town of Carmarthen, home of the wizard Merlin, the arty town of Narberth and the beautiful city of St David’s, the smallest in Wales are ideal.
Canoeing
Only a few miles drive away is the Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club, based in Llandysul. The main club activities are Slalom, Freestyle, Surf and Canadian Canoeing. They welcome families, disabled, competitive and recreational paddlers. There is no age limit and everyone is welcome.
