Penrhipyn was originally a blacksmith’s shop, the 19th century traditional Welsh cottage is built of river-stone with traditional features throughout including exposed oak beams and wooden flooring. The bedrooms offer wonderful views across the valley.
Located in the idyllic hamlet of Gwernogle, in the heart of the Cothi valley, Penrhipyn is a beautiful and tranquil rural retreat, complete with its own wild flower meadow.
Situated on the edge of the Brechfa forest and close to Llanfihangel Rhos-y-Corn mountain and Gorlech Trails Abergorlech, Penrhipyn is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists or for those who just want to get away from it all. Lock-up and washing facilities for up to 6 bikes available

The open pine and oak stripped staircase leads to the two upstairs bedrooms and bathroom.
A delightful downstairs bedroom leads from the lounge, this is well suited, ground floor, accommodation for those with limited ability.

A piano is included for cosy musical evenings.

There are two double bedrooms and one twin, with wooden flooring and distressed furniture.

Off-road parking is located at the back of the property, with room for three vehicles, leading to private access to the cottage. This area also offers a mountain bike lock-up building with facilities for washing muddy bikes, and adequate storage for wet/muddy clothing.
Our own wild flower meadows are available for all to share & enjoy.
